April 5, 2025: I’m Grateful For Today And All It Brings

“in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” -I Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Gratitude is easy when the sun is shining, the plans are going smoothly, and joy feels natural. But what about the ordinary days? Or the difficult ones, where things feel out of sync and nothing seems to go as planned? That’s where this verse challenges us. God is posture of gratitude within the hardships we face. Why? Because gratitude keeps our hearts soft and our perspective lifted. It reminds us that we are not alone—that even in the stress, the silence, or the struggle, God is still present and working.

There may have been a day this week or even today that felt like the hot mess express. You overslept, spilled coffee on a white shirt, missed an important call, and felt behind on everything. Gratitude isn’t just a reaction to something good happening—it’s a posture of the heart, a daily decision to see life through the lens of God’s goodness, no matter the circumstances. When Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, he didn’t say “give thanks for everything” but “in everything give thanks.” That means even when the day is hard, when plans fall apart, or when we’re walking through uncertainty, we can still choose to say, “God, I’m grateful for today and all it brings.”

That choice isn’t denial—it’s trust. Trust that God is with you, working in every detail, using both the blessings and the challenges to shape you, teach you, and draw you closer to Him.
