April 28, 2023- God Is A Healer Of My Diseases. My Iniquities Are Forgiven.

“Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,” -Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In October 2022, I had to have knee surgery for a ruptured ACL and torn meniscus. In order to perform the surgery, they made the incisions around my knee that needed to be stitched up afterwards. Before I went in, the doctor said that he would only make two and the surgery would only be an hour. He said that it worse than he thought and in order to get it fixed, another incision and another hour was needed. After months of rehab, I finally had to get fitted for a brace. When it came in and the technician was making sure the fit was correct, I saw she looked at me in surprise. She asked where are your scars? I don’t see them. Sure enough, they are not visible. I pointed to her where they were since I knew where the scars were that we healed.

In life, we face all matters of trauma, sickness, hurts, and mistakes. All of those things leave physical signs that your life has been disrupted by uncomfortable situations. Sometimes these events come with a public audience. People have seen you go through your hurt and embarrassments realizing that there should be some evidence that you have been through it. This is where God steps in. Psalms 103 reminds of the benefits of God. He forgives our iniquities and heals our diseases. Some people are expecting to see you in the same state of your mistakes and trauma, but God steps in and takes care of that. I thought you had cancer… I did but God took care of that. I thought drugs took over their life… it might have, but God took care of that. You were a mess after your loved one died… you’re right, but God took care of that. Whatever you may have faced in your life, God can take care of the scars so well that others can’t see them. That’s when you tell them how it happened. Share the story of your scars.
