April 7, 2023- As I Seek The Lord, He Hears

“I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.”
Psalms 34:4 NKJV

I am a big Denzel Washington fan. In the movie, Antwone Fisher, he plays a character named Dr. Davenport, who is a therapist in the Navy. Antwone Fisher, is a sailor who deals with some issues and is mandated to see Dr. Davenport. After his mandatory time is up, he finds himself still seeing Dr. Davenport in those moments where he felt like he couldn’t make it. Moments where he struggled with life. Moments where he felt as though he was going to make some bad decisions. If Dr. Davenport was not in his office, he would search until he found him. Whether it was somewhere on base or at his home, he did not stop until he found him.

There are moments in our lives that we find ourselves in trouble or in a struggle. We know that the only way that we are going to make it through is to get some help. The psalmist teaches us here to seek the Lord. When we find ourselves in these situations, look for the Lord. He is never too hard to find. We have to look past our situations that may block our view to get to Him. Not only that, but when I seek Him, He hears us. He doesn’t blow us off like others, the Lord listens and does something about it. He delivers me from them all. After I tell Him about them, He puts me in a place to where what was bothering me is not an issue anymore. When we see this statement, we know that we have some who hears us. “Can you hear me now?
