5th Day of Christmas: Birth

“So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” -Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The story of Jesus' birth is strikingly simple. The Savior of the world wasn't born in a palace but in a stable. He didn’t sleep in a gilded crib but in a manger—a feeding trough for animals. His arrival into the world reminds us that God often works in the ordinary and the unexpected.
