April 19, 2023- God Will Never Fail Me Or Forsake Me

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” -Deuteronomy‬ ‭31‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Going from high school to college was something that everyone looks forward to. It’s a major step and sign of transition from one level to the next. One is moving closer to the purpose and destiny that has been placed over their life. But there is one part that they don’t tell you about in that transition. It’s the moment when your parents leave that dorm room after your initial drop off. At that moment, you realize that you are by yourself. The norm that you have been used for the past eighteen years of having someone there has changed. It is then that you feel alone. You realize that there are new challenges, obstacles, and opportunities that you will have to face alone. They all seem like daunting tasks to accomplish alone, but then you remember the promise that you have over your life. You are not alone.

These words in verse 6 are given to Joshua at a very critical time in his life. Moses has just chunked up the duece and on his way to glory. Joshua is left alone to lead the people to the Promised Land. The words that are given to him are affirmations of attitude, actions, and security. All things that are needed when you feel alone. Things that you need to have success. I don’t know who this is for today, but as you read this, allow these words to speak to your life. Be strong and courageous even in times when you feel like you shouldn’t be. Do not be afraid even when it feels like a moment that fear should set in. Why? You have a promise to hold on to. God goes with you and will never leave you.  Say it to yourself today. God will never fail me or forsake me. I’m not in this alone.
