April 21, 2023 - I Will Not Walk In Pride Or Shame

“When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.” -Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There was a story of a woman who walked out of the restroom. As she was walking, another lady noticed that her dress was stuck in her under garments. Rather than letting the lady walk around and be embarrassed, the other lady tried to get her attention. After several attempts, the woman ignored her cries to try to help her out. She continued to walk around while there were snickers and murmurings as she passed by. Because she refused the counsel, she found herself in an unfavorable situation.

How many times in our lives have we been approached about a situation that could put us in an unfavorable situation? How many times has our pride gotten in the way and we ignore good advice that would have change the outcome of our situation? When pride makes an appearance in our lives, it leads us to believe that we have things figured out. Truth is that we were only looking at things from our perspective rather than the lens of wisdom. If we can come to the place where we can humble ourselves, we can accept the fact that we might not have it right. When we get to that play, we have found this thing called wisdom. And that is the place that we want to operate. Forgot the pride and shame, with wisdom, you will always be in the right place.
