April 7, 2024: I Will Avoid The Path Of The Temptation That Leads To Ruin

”Now therefore, listen to me, my children; Pay attention to the words of my mouth: Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways, Do not stray into her paths; For she has cast down many wounded, And all who were slain by her were strong men. Her house is the way to hell, Descending to the chambers of death.“ -Proverbs‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬-‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Growing up you probably heard the words “don’t hang around with the wrong crowd.” What makes the wrong crowd? Bad moral decisions, no sound thought process, and intentionally hurting others just to name a few. That crowd is not doing anything productive for themselves or others. If you are around bad influences, there is a possibility that you will do things that are out of your character because of your environment.

The word of wisdom for today is to stay away from “her.” Who is “her?” Once again, Solomon speaks of adultery. He says don’t allow yourself to get caught up in her ways. Do not allow your heart to be taken by her because there is nothing but trouble in her direction. The most intriguing part for me is that he says that whoever goes down this road will not come out unscathed. As matter of fact, strong men have been taken out by this. When the temptation comes, you have to use wisdom and see how it has affected so many others. Don’t let it ruin your life too.
