April 15, 2023- My Sorrow Will Be Turned Into Joy

“Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.” -‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Childbirth has to be one of the toughest things that a woman has to go through. After months of the baby on the inside, they make their appearance. However, this is not a nice knock at the door. Life becomes disrupted because birthing is necessary. As the baby makes its appearance, the sounds are not that of a welcome. They are one of pain and anguish. The  yells, the physical hurts, the mind racing, and this could go one for hours. However, a moment happens where there is a different type of cry.  It is the voice of a new born baby. The face that was once in pain from labor, is now a joyful smile as she looks at the very being who has caused some pain and anguish in her life.

The crazy thing about this story is that God already saw this coming. In verse 21 of this same chapter, Jesus shared the description of the pain and joy of childbirth.  He said in your life, you will experience moments just like that. When the world celebrates, you may not celebrate the same thing. As a matter of fact, you will be in mourning about it. What do you ask is He talking about? Jesus has just told he disciples that He is going to have to leave them. But, there is a day coming where something wonderful is going to happen. And when it does, you won’t ask questions. Just celebrate!
