Don't Leave God Out Of The Equation

“Don’t leave God out of the equation,” were the words that I heard spoken to me as I sat in my quiet time of seeking God at the beginning of the pandemic. Then I heard Him say,”Job”. I understood that to mean that I was to study the Book of Job. For months I would read and study the book of Job, not from the perspective that many people study it. My emphasis was on, who God is and learning more about Him than whether or not Job sinned.

I learned that when events and circumstances of life seem to be spiraling out of order into chaos, we have the tendency to stress, worry, enter into fear, and doubt. One thing we as “Born Again Believers” should remember and take hold of is what God said in Deuteronomy 31:8, “It is The LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

Let us all grab hold of this one thing, “God is not, nor has ever been, since the beginning of time, remote from His creation. He has been and is an active participant in the events of history.
I think that quite often because we can’t see Him with our physical eyes, we tend to leave Him out of the equation when the world around us and everybody in it seem to be going crazy and out of control.

God’s existence guarantees our security. God is present with us now and always fighting for His people. God is watching over us and He never slumbers nor sleeps as stated in Psalm 121:1-4. It goes on to promise that the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forever more.

We can rest in peace during the most difficult times knowing that God is actively involved in His Universe, supervising all things from the creation to eternity. He manages, supervises, and directs events in the lives of “Born Again Believers” so that all things whether they are good or bad will in the long run benefit our good. Ephesians 1:11 says, God works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will.

Let us remember moving forward that whatever happens in this world, whether to Christians or non-Christians, will happen as a result of either the direct will of God or the permissive will of God. Psalm 115:3 Our God is in the heavens, and He does as He wishes.
